About the Teacher

Hello parents and students! My name is Lindsay Reed. This will be my 12th year
in my teaching profession, as well as, my fourth year at Rosehill Elementary. I have been
living in Tomball for the past 8 years and I love working in the same district where I
live and being part of such a close-knit community.

I have a Bachelor degree in Early Childhood Education from Lubbock Christian
University and a Master's degree from Sam Houston State University.

I was married in 2008 and moved to the Tomball area. My husband and his parents
are both Tomball alumni and always spoken highly about the school district. My
husband and I have 2 beautiful sons. My oldest is 5  and I am so excited that he will
be joining me at Rosehill in Kindergarten this year. My youngest son just turned 2.
I love being outside, working on our home, traveling, reading, and spending time
with my family.

I have taught several different grades, but I am in love with 2nd grade. I look forward to
coming to school every day and am excited about the upcoming school year!

Finishing Up the Year

Hello, parents! I have truly had one of my favorite teaching years this year due to my amazing children and their parents. Thank you all so much for everything you've done this year!

I just wanted to let you know a few things before we finish up this year. First of all, I am sending your child home with some papers today. This is just practice work for them to do over the summer. These papers will cover a variety of topics that we covered in Math this year. Secondly, I wanted to remind everyone that tomorrow will be an early release day and we will be dismissing at 12:50.

Please have an incredible summer and I hope you will all come by and see me again next year!

Next Week

Hello parents! Here is a list of things that will be going on during the last week of school. We're hoping to fill our last few days together with tons of fun!

Our last award ceremony will be on Tuesday afternoon at 2:00. Please feel free to join us, if you like.

On Tuesday, students can bring their favorite board game to play with friends. They may also bring a beach towel for some outdoor reading and another picnic lunch.

On Wednesday, we will have an electronic party. The kids can bring their favorite electronic device to use in class, but please keep in mind, your child will be responsible for his/her device.Lastly, our end of the year party will be on Wednesday at 2:40. A request has been made by our Room Moms for contributions. Please contact me if you have any questions and feel free to join us that afternoon, as well.

Thank you so much for all of your support and cooperation! It has truly been an incredible year!

Yearbook

Parents,

ALL YEARBOOKS have been sent home with students.  If you ordered a book, but did not receive it yet, contact PTO (respto.tisd@gmail.com) IMMEDIATELY.

Also, if you missed ordering a book & would like one, we have a few extra.  These will be available at the front desk for $20 (cash or check; payable to RES PTO).  First come, first serve.

Tomorrow

Just a couple of reminders for tomorrow:

Thursday will be "happy camper" day at Rosehill. Students are encouraged to wear camping attire to join in on the fun! (hiking boots, knee high socks, hat, bandana, etc.)

Also, if you plan on joining us for Kickball Night tomorrow, please know that the vendors for Chic Fil A, Papa Johns and the snow cones will only be accepting cash.

Have a great rest of the week!

Hi parents! We have a lot going on this week. Here are a few things for you to know:

Lunch with someone grand is this week. Grandparents with the last names beginning with A-M can come on Wednesday and names beginning with N-Z on Thursday.

Thursday we will have a Picnic/Kickball Evening. Kids and families can come by from 5pm to 7pm to play kickball, buy dinner from Chic Fil A or Papa Johns, and shop the book fair after hours.

Lastly, we will have a Math benchmark test on Thursday. Brief overviews will be sent, please take a moment to go over them with your child.

Have a wonderful week and please feel free to contact me if you have any questions!

Science Test

Parents, we will be taking a Science test tomorrow. This test will be a review on everything we have covered in Science class throughout the school year. We completed a review in class today. I would encourage you to go over the review with your child tonight to help prepare them for tomorrow's test.

We will not be sending home math homework this week. Also, our spelling words are review words from the past 9 weeks, so please work on these with your child, but you do not have to turn in a copy of your work to me this Friday. Thanks!

Happenings

We have a lot of things coming up this week and in the near future. Here's what you need to know:

Rosehill has TWO spirit nights this week. The first will be at Julio's TONIGHT (Monday) and the second is at Willie's on 249 on Wednesday. Please join us for one or both if you can.

Our class will be having a Science test on Wednesday and a Math test on Thursday. Both review pages went home in their blue folders today.

Field Day is Friday. I will send another reminder later this week about the details, but please keep in mind the kids should be wearing their green class shirt and dress comfortably for a day full of activities.

Our library will be having the Spring book fair. Here is the link to the books that can be purchased. Stay tuned for specific book fair events.

Lastly, please remember we will have STARR testing on campus and cannot have any visitors on campus tomorrow.

Thanks for your cooperation and have a great week!

Happy Monday May 1st!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! Our field day is coming up fast and we still need volunteers, so if you are available and would like to help out let us know.   Also, if you have not done so yet please return the field day form including if your child needs a sack lunch on field day.

Our animal habitat project will be due this Friday, May 5th. Due to this project there will be no Math homework this week.

Next Monday and Tuesday 3rd and 4th grade will be having STAAR testing. Due to the testing, the campus will be closed to visitors.

We are also in need of more parent volunteers to speak at Career Day. If you are able to come speak, please let me know! The kids love it when their parents come to speak to their friends.

Thank you for all your support this year and have a great week!

Science Project

Parents, I sent home a sheet of paper yesterday outlining the details of our next science project. This project is over animal habitats and will be due on Friday, May 5th. Please look over the project information sheet and help your child as needed with the assignment. If you have any questions, please let me know!

Happenings

Parents, we will taking a test in Math over Fractions next Tuesday. I am sending home a review today. Please work with your child on the review over the weekend or on Monday to help them prepare.

And another reminder that tomorrow is our field trip. Please have your child to school on time wearing their Cougar Dash shirts and closed-toe shoes. We are really looking forward to tomorrow!

Field Trip

Parents, we are so excited about Friday's field trip to TGR Exotics. A few reminders:
  • Please make sure your child has a sack lunch
  • All students must wear closed-toe shoes
  • Please have your child wear their Cougar Dash shirt
  • Please have your child to school on time so the bus can leave promptly
Thank you so much!

Field Trip

Parents, I am still missing several field trip permission slip letters. Without this form, your child will not be able to attend the field trip next Friday and I want all of us to be there to enjoy this place. Please turn this form into me this week!

Also, if you have not done so already, please submit your child's Cougar Dash money. It is due this Thursday.

Hello parents,

Here are a few reminders and notifications for what's going this week:

We have been learning about significant historical figures in social studies and will be having a test tomorrow. The kids will be reading a passage about Amelia Earhart and George Washington Carver and will need to identify their contributions.

Please join us tomorrow for RES Spirit Night at Frey's Backyard! Part of the proceeds will go towards Rosehill!

Thursday is the final day to turn in Cougar Dash donations. Please be sure to send your envelopes by that day.

Also, please don't forget we will be going on our field trip NEXT Friday. If you haven't done so yet, please be sure to send the permission slip so that we can plan accordingly.

Thank you so much for your cooperation!

Review

Parents, we will be taking a science test on Wednesday. The test will cover plants. I have sent your child home with a review to complete tonight or tomorrow night. Besides the review, your child will also have their usual spelling homework and math homework. Thanks and I'm looking forward to another wonderful week with your child!

Monday

Hello, Parents! Thank you so much to all of you that came to support our kids to the Cougar Dash. I'm sure this is the reason why we won 1st place. :)

Please have your child wear yellow on Monday the 3rd ! We will be listening to the head coach of the Texans read the first chapter of The Lemonade War. We will also have our new superintendent visiting that day and she has specifically requested everyone wear yellow to start off this reading initiative!
