Meet Gloria Vásquez: New Principal at Rosehill Elementary.
She joins Tomball ISD directly from Cy-Fair ISD, where she served as Principal at Frazier Elementary since 2014.
Mrs. Vásquez brings 20 years of education experience to Rosehill Elementary as a campus leader, classroom teacher, counselor and as a bilingual instructional specialist.
Prior to her campus leader role in Cy-Fair ISD, she spent time in Galena Park ISD.
She received her Bachelor of Science degree in interdisciplinary studies from the University of Houston – University Park, her Master of Science degree in counseling (‘05) and educational management (‘06) from the University of Houston – Clear Lake.
As a campus leader, Mrs. Vásquez brings to Rosehill Elementary a bilingual background that will play an instrumental role in Tomball ISD’s new Two-Way Dual Language Academy, opening this August at RES.
What makes working in Tomball ISD so special?
“Working in Tomball ISD is special because it feels like I am home---the feeling of being back where my roots began. As a first generation college graduate, I understand the value of supporting students and meeting them where they are so they can look beyond any barriers and reach their full potential. I am excited to be a part of a team who values the rich heritage of its community while building leadership capacity and creating innovative learning experiences for students.”
What are you looking forward to most about leading RES this upcoming school year?
“I am honored to be leading RES as we embark on the journey of becoming a Two-Way Dual Language school this year. I look forward to continuing the legacy of excellence and working with the staff and families of the RES community to make learning for all a priority for success.”
