I graduated with a BS degree from Texas State University and began my career as a Recreational Therapist in a psychiatric hospital. During the 10 years I was employed there, I worked with children who were in a state of acute distress. I left the hospital and began working as an Engage Life Director in Senior Living for the following 4 years but during that time I felt that my passion in working with children was being neglected and felt moved to obtain my teaching certification. In order to obtain experience in the Special Education setting I began by working in the developmental and in the PASS setting as a paraprofessional in Tomball ISD. I began my first teaching assignment in the Structured Learning Lab at Rosehill Elementary and am very excited to be teaching in the SLL again this year.
