ATTENTION PARENTS!

Students in 3rd and 4th Grade will take the Math and Reading STAAR

Please make sure that your child:

  • gets a good night’s sleep
  • gets his/her things together the night before so that they are not
    rushed the next morning
  • starts his/her day in a calm manner
  • has a good breakfast
  • is ON TIME to school (by 8:40)

So that he/she can do well on this very important test!

Due to test security requirements, visitors will not be allowed in the building.

Students will be eating lunch “picnic” style in their classrooms. Although lunches from the cafeteria will be available, it is highly encouraged that students bring a lunch from home on May 14th and 15th. No outside lunches will be delivered to your child.

Your efforts to ensure that your child is prepared for testing are sincerely appreciated! Thank you!

Homework Reading Passage

As you may have already noticed, 3rd ELA teachers sent home a practice reading passage for the students to work on. We would like for them to really practice their strategies (yellow card sent home as well) and answering the comprehension questions. Again, this is not mandatory to turn in but we informed the students that we HIGHLY recommend they compete it. If they do turn it in on Fridays, they will receive a small reward. Please email me if you have any questions. As always, thank you for your support!

Christmas Party, Spelling and more!

Hello Parents!

Next week is a busy week for all! We have Polar Express on Wednesday, students are allowed to wear their favorite pajamas. Thursday we have our All School Sing Along, students can wear a Santa hat, or something festive, and Friday we have our classroom Christmas party at 11:30. It is also early dismissal, so students will be let out at 12:50.

Christmas Party - We are asking and would greatly appreciate a $2 donation, or any contribution you can give for food, crafts, and fun for the students. Thank you in advance!

Homework - students do NOT have a spelling test the week of December 18th. However, they do still have a math sheet and math fact quiz.

Blood Drive and Polar Express

Blood Drive: The Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center will hold a Blood Drive here on Monday, December 11, from noon to 6:00 p.m. It is for 2nd grader here at RES who is battling Leukemia. A sign-up sheet is placed at the front desk with Teresa. It will take place in a Donor Coach that will be parked in our parking lot. Hopefully you can help out.

Polar Express: The students are watching the Polar Express in the library December 20th starting at 9:00. Mrs. Horton needs 2 volunteers from each class to help monitor during the movie. If you would be interested, please let us know by emailing us. Thank you in advance!

Roadhouse Rolls and Field Trip

Our Texas Roadhouse rolls fundraiser is due by December 7th. Please have orders and money turned in by next Thursday.
