Things to know for this week 5/14-5/18

I am overjoyed with how diligent everyone worked the past couple of days! Even on day two, everyone worked so hard! Parents, thank you for all of your continued support at home; it is greatly appreciated!

As we are winding down to the end of the year, there will not be any homework sent home for the rest of the year. That being said, please make sure to keep up with nightly reading if you can :) And even into the summer. Developing those good habits will hopefully turn into a rewarding routine!

Library books are due to the library Thursday. We are asking that they be returned to school tomorrow (Wednesday) so we have time to determine if any are still missing.

Friday is our field day. There will be various events from 8:45-12:45. Please make sure your child comes dressed for the weather- it is going to be warm. Students should wear their class shirts (from the fun run- ours are red), shorts/athletic bottoms and tennis shoes. Students will be provided water breaks, but if your child chooses to bring his/her own water bottle they will be in charge of keeping up with it.

We will be having a picnic lunch under on bus ramp. Students are welcome/encouraged to bring a towel to sit on. Coach Tripp has worked very hard along with many others to ensure field day is a great time for the kids. Hope to see some of you there cheering on our class!

Tuesday

Yay! One down, one to go! Everyone worked really hard today :) Please remember that tomorrow we have our Reading STAAR test. Please make sure to get a good nights sleep and have a healthy breakfast again.

Mark your calendars

On Monday, May 14th and Tuesday, May 15th Students in 3rd grade will take the Math and Reading STAAR Tests

Please make sure that your child:

1. Gets a good night’s sleep
2. Gets his/her things together the night before so that they are not rushed the next morning
3. Starts his/her day in a calm manner has a good breakfast
4. Is ON TIME to school (by 8:40) so that he/she can do well on this very important test!

Due to test security requirements, visitors will not be allowed in the building.
Students will be eating lunch “picnic” style in their classrooms. Although lunches from the cafeteria will be available, it is highly encouraged that students bring a lunch from home on May 14th and 15th. No outside lunches will be delivered to your child.
Your efforts to ensure that your child is prepared for testing are sincerely appreciated! Thank you!
