Hello Rosehill Cougars! My name is Leticia Piña, and I am your child's new 2nd grade teacher!
For those of you who don’t know me, let me share a little background information about myself. I was born and raised in the small town of Navasota, Texas. I have a degree from Sam Houston State University in Bilingual Elementary Education and a Masters in Educational Leadership. I began teaching in my hometown at Navasota ISD, later moved Spring ISD and finally found my home at Tomball ISD. During my 15 years of education I have taught kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade, both bilingual and general education.
Outside of the classroom, I stay busy with my small family of four. My husband, Hector, is a Houston Firefighter and runs a home inspection business on his time off. My daughter, Emma, is six and will be first grader at Rosehill this year. My son, Nicholas, is four and will soon be starting pre-k. They are both a handful, but definitely make life sweet!
As I mentioned earlier, my teaching degree is specified in Bilingual Education, but I actually made a switch a few years ago to teach in English. I feel very comfortable in both languages and have enjoyed both experiences. My main focus is to reach all kids and help them grow both socially and academically.
Please feel free to come by and get to know me and our classroom environment. I really do appreciate any feedback and as much communication as possible. And of course, thank you for sharing your child with me. I truly feel that this might be the best year yet!
