Please throw out those spelling list for the rest of the year and get excited for Word Work!

Memorizing spelling words for test is one thing. But understanding how words are built in order to decide and encode derivatives and affixes, is how they’ll be able to bridge their spelling into their writing.

Weekly word work practice will look different from week to week. This is a work in progress. I will try to get a list of upcoming words/skills/patterns printed and in the homework folders on Monday. This will be daily work done in class each Monday and Friday. This shouldn’t require any homework other than great discussions at home about what Word Work skill they are working on.

Please do not panic, I anticipate a high success rate on this in regards to scores and I anticipate a high success rate on this in regards to helping them understand how words (in our language) work.

Let me know if you have any questions, and as always, thank you for your support.

I will be adding an amazing rocking bench to the classroom for students to use as a reading bench. It can seat two students and is quite large.
I am searching for a mom or really anyone that has a sewing super power and willing to donate their skill/time to making oversize bench pillows.
Please email me if this is something you are interested in helping with! (:
Thank you,

Tomball Families:

We are starting our journey reading The One And Only Ivan. Students are asked to watch one video a day to stay on track (link in google classroom). They will answer a daily question to be entered in a weekly raffle. I am asking students to watch the daily reading online during DEAR TIME. Please help me encourage students to be at school at 8:10 to utilize that 8:10-8:50 reading time. Also, we are needing EVERY student to bring HEADPHONES daily to listen to the reading.
